Letter from Recruitment Chair

Hi everyone! My name is Farrah Labadie, and I serve as 2023/24's vp: Membership for the Epsilon Phi chapter of Delta Gamma. I have had so much fun working with the rest of my recruitment team these past few months to plan formal recruitment, and I cannot wait to see it all come to fruition. Even though our formal recruitment process was delayed due to Hurricane Francine, our chapter was able to pick back up where we left off two weeks later and continue working hard to recruit another new member class.

One of the reasons why I decided to run for vp: Membership this time last year was because of the experience I gained serving on last year’s EVC as director of recruitment records. From this role, I was able to understand the inner workings of the recruitment process for the first time, which was both special and thrilling. From this, I discovered a newfound love for recruitment and for Delta Gamma as a whole, reminding me of the reason I chose DG from the beginning.

When I came to Loyola University freshman year, I was eager to make new friends and become a part of something bigger than myself. I had always had some type of sisterhood bond growing up, whether it was with my real sisters, high school friends, or organizational communities. I knew that coming to college, however, I would have to work harder to find this same bond that I had always been lucky to be a part of. Each time I walked into Delta Gamma’s room, I knew that bond was real. I both felt and witnessed genuine connections between the chapter members, in the way they talked about one another, looked at each other, and interacted with one another. I could tell they were friends not just in Delta Gamma but also outside of it, which was what I desperately wanted as well.

From the day I chose Delta Gamma, I have continued to put forth my best effort to put back in what she has given me, and I am constantly being rewarded by her. I found my absolute best friends, have grown drastically as an individual,, and have made memories over the last four years that I know will continue well after college. It is my hope that this year, I can show PNMs this same feeling that Delta Gamma has brought me four years ago and has continued to show me every day since. Here’s to another successful recruitment season!
